The most common mistake when renting coffee equipment is choosing the machine first and the venue second. An office, a kiosk and a restaurant use coffee in completely different ways, so the machine that is perfect for one can be a constant headache in another.
In short:
- If a guest or employee presses a button, a super-automatic fits. If a trained barista makes the drink, a professional espresso machine fits.
- Offices, shops, kiosks and self-service points usually need a super-automatic; HoReCa venues with a barista need professional machines.
- Service model, water, coffee supply and training matter as much as the machine itself.
Below are the questions that actually decide the choice. We answer them from what Anima Volitiva installs, so you can compare like with like with any other supplier.
Who makes the coffee: a barista or the guest?
This is the first and most important question. If the drink is prepared by a trained barista, a professional espresso machine gives full control over the result. If the guest or the employee presses a button, a super-automatic machine is the practical answer, because it grinds, doses and brews the same way every time.
We explain the difference in more detail in Dr. Coffee vs professional espresso and super-automatic vs espresso machine.
Venue by venue at a glance
| Venue | Who makes the drink | Equipment that fits | What matters most |
|---|---|---|---|
| Office | Employees and guests | Super-automatic (Dr. Coffee, Necta) | Simple daily routine, trained staff, steady supply of coffee |
| Shop, kiosk, self-service point | Customers | Super-automatic (Dr. Coffee, Necta) | Reliability, 24/7 support, technician or replacement within 24 hours |
| Restaurant, cafe, hotel | Barista | Professional espresso (La Spaziale, Nuova Simonelli, Rancilio, Iberital, Astoria, Fiorenzato) | Trained barista, calibration, weekly quality visit |
Office: a super-automatic with a simple daily routine
In an office nobody wants to learn extraction. A super-automatic, such as the Dr. Coffee or Necta models we install, lets staff make a drink in a few touches, and the routine is limited to filling and cleaning. Staff training is included, so the people who use the machine every day know exactly what to do.

Kiosk, shop or self-service point: reliability and a short queue
Here the machine stands in front of customers all day and cannot wait for a technician. A super-automatic suits self-service and retail, and the service model matters as much as the model of the machine: a 24/7 support line and a technician on site or a replacement machine within 24 hours.

Restaurant, cafe or hotel: when a barista runs the bar
For HoReCa venues with a barista, we install professional espresso machines from La Spaziale, Nuova Simonelli, Rancilio, Iberital, Astoria and Fiorenzato. They give a trained barista room to work on the drink, but they need a trained person behind them, which is why we run staff and barista training as part of onboarding.

Do not forget water, coffee and consumables
Equipment is only a part of the cup. Water filtration and maintenance are included in our service, premium roasted coffee is resupplied weekly, and tea, cups, sugar, syrups and napkins can come in the same delivery, so one supplier is responsible for the whole result. See maintenance.
Why the equipment package follows the venue
We do not publish a flat price because a kiosk, an office and a restaurant need different equipment. Every client gets an individual quote and one of three equipment packages, Start, Pro or Max, matched to the venue format. Ask any supplier what exactly is included before you compare numbers. How pricing works.
How to decide in practice
Describe your venue in three lines: who makes the drink, how many people are served at the busiest hour, and where the machine will stand. With that, a supplier can propose equipment, and you can test it on your own volume with a free 14-day trial without prepayment. Here is how to run that trial fairly.
